Welcome back! Let's talk a little about Memorial Jewelry. Have a loved one's old guitar or other stringed instrument who has since passed? A great way to hold onto those memories is to have a piece of jewelry or key chain made out of those strings. Then the instrument can be restrung and passed along to another family member that wants to play. I do not charge extra for custom items, I can even remove the strings for you.
This week I wanted to share another great story with you that may tug at those heart strings.
A friend and coworker of mine asked me to make some items this past Christmas for her to give as gifts to her sister and niece. But these were different. She wanted me to use strings from her father's guitar. Now, he had passed away a number of years ago, 2005 to be exact. Her sister had one of his old guitars stashed away in her attic. My friend got those strings and gave them to me. I got to work right away!
I was able to make four necklaces from his old strings (and a ring as a little something extra just for her).
Her exact words to me: "My sister and niece absolutely love them. I also wear mine every chance I get and feel like I get to take him with me places I go".
